中国の明時代に作陶された染付の碗で、タイの北部、チェンマイ県にあるオムコーイ（Omkoi)で発掘されました。タイ北部は窯跡が無数にあり、また中国からミャンマーに向けての商業流通が発達していました。当時のタイ人は中国の焼き物を真似ながら、自身の作風を交えてタイ独自のタイ陶磁を発達させました。商業流通は様々なものが発掘されます。本品もその一つで、昔のタイ人は中国の陶磁器を見ながら、作陶に勤しんで来たのではないかと想像されます。

This is a blue and white pottery bowl made in China during the Ming Dynasty and was excavated at Omkoi in Chiang Mai province in northern Thailand. There are countless kiln sites in northern Thailand, and commercial distribution from China to Myanmar was well developed. Thai people at that time imitated Chinese pottery and developed their own style of Thai ceramics. A variety of commercial distribution is unearthed. This product is one of them, and it is imagined that the Thai people in the past worked hard to make pottery while looking at Chinese pottery.
