This Annamese blue and white bowl with arabesque patterns was salvaged from the coast of Hoi An 30 years ago and then transported to Thailand, where it was displayed in an antique shop in Bangkok. Annamese blue and white bowls are said to be reproductions of blue and white bowls made in China during the Yuan dynasty. Due to the maritime ban policy of the Ming dynasty, Annamese blue and white bowls spread throughout the world. This bowl is one of those bowls. The glaze has chipped after being salvaged from the sea, but the gosu/blue color and shape are in very good condition. There are no visible repairs.
